The NHL has canceled all games through December 14, and the 2013 All-Star Game.

The total for games lost due to the lockout stands at 422, including the Winter Classic and All-Star Game.

The following Detroit Red Wings games were canceled:

  • December 1 vs. San Jose
  • December 4 vs. Colorado
  • December 7 vs. Washington
  • December 10 vs. Boston
  • December 13 vs. Phoenix

NHL Deputy Commissioner Bill Daly called the loss of the All-Star Game in Columbus, Ohio, "very disappointing."

“We feel badly for NHL fans and particularly those in Columbus, and we intend to work closely with the Blue Jackets organization to return the NHL All-Star events to Columbus and their fans as quickly as possible,” Daly said.

The NHL and NHLPA do not have any more plans to meet anytime soon after the latest round of negotiations broke off Wednesday. If they were to meet and strike a deal, the earliest the regular season would start would be December 14.

With the cancelation of the All-Star Game, there may not be another until 2015, due to the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia.
