The Grand Rapids Griffins avenged a loss 24 hours earlier to the Texas Stars by earning a 3-2 victory over the same team Saturday night.
Francis Pare opened the scoring with his ninth goal of the year at 3:27 in the first by taking advantage of Riley Sheahan occupying Texas netminder Jack Campbell. Pare has tallied a point in eight of the last nine games.
The Stars answered back with two goals 3:26 apart with the first from Matt Fraser at 10:20 after he took advantage of a wide open net, and the second from Colton Sceviour at 13:46 to take a 2-1 lead.
The Griffins responded in the second with Brian Lashoff scoring his first goal of the year at 2:27. Pare picked up an assist on the goal to move into third place in franchise scoring with 209 points.
Triston Grant scored the go-ahead goal at 12:20 after a shot from Nathan Paetsch bounced off the boards. Grant corralled the puck and fired it past Campbell.
Petr Mrazek picked up his seventh win of the year by stopping 26 shots. Campbell stopped 33 shots.
