Finally some good news on the injury/illness front.
MLive's Ansar Khan reports that Detroit Red Wings forward Todd Bertuzzi does not have mononucleosis.
Red Wings GM Ken Holland said that Bertuzzi had tests done, and that the results came back negative for mono.
"It's great news," Holland said to The Detroit Free Press. "The tests must have reacted to something going way back, so we redid the tests. He can play tomorrow if Mike Babcock wants him to, and he feels he's able."
Bertuzzi is expected to return Tuesday for practice. While he probably won't play in the home opener against the Stars, he will for sure be on the ice for Friday's game against the Wild.
Center Darren Helm (back) is also expected to return to action Friday.
