The Detroit Red Wings just keep losing defensemen.
Helene St. James of the Detroit Free Press reports that defenseman Ian White will miss 2-3 weeks with a severe laceration on his left leg.
White sustained the injury in last night's loss to Dallas. Red Wings general manager Ken Holland said that while White did not have any tendon damage, he did have to undergo surgery to reattach muscle.
White joins fellow defensemen Jonathan Ericsson (shoulder, day-to-day) and Carlo Colaiacovo (shoulder, out for 3-4 weeks) on the list of injured Red Wings.
The good news is that the team expects Jakub Kindl back for Friday's game against the Minnesota Wild. Kindl had missed the first three games with a groin injury.
